Listeria outbreak linked to peaches has resulted in one death and 11 confirmed cases, with all surviving patients hospitalized.

Cases are reported in seven states: California, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio.

HMC Farms is identified as the distributor of whole peaches, nectarines, and plums causing illness. The FDA found the outbreak strain in a sample of their peaches

HMC Farms issued a nationwide recall for the affected fruits sold between May 1 and Nov. 15

Consumers are advised to check their freezers for the recalled fruit, not consume it, and discard it
